The Calling of Saints Peter and Andrew is a oil on canvas painting by Caravaggio (1571–1610), created in 1603. Measuring 176 × 140 cm, it depicts the biblical scene from Matthew 4:18-20.
Walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
He said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men.”
They immediately left their nets and followed him.
